Rafting the Kaweah River with All OutdoorsThe Kaweah River is a great challenge to anyone who thinks Northern California has a lock on outstanding whitewater rafting. Technical and aggressive, the Kaweah means business as it charges non-stop toward Lake Kaweah.

Some rivers have boiling whitewater and steep drops followed by calm pools and plenty of chances to catch your breath.  Not the Kaweah—keep your hand on the T grip and your weight on your feet because once you catch the current it’s non-stop action. The river’s unpredictable nature and fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants rapids make it a favorite with return guests who come back year after year.

When you catch an eddy long enough to look around you’ll see spring wildflowers, lush riparian shrubs, and large granite boulders pushing the river into fantastic holes and powerful hydraulics. The mountains of the Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks rise in the distance, but don’t get too lost in them because who knows what’s coming around the bend...
